Angus Webb

Angus Webb - Director

Angus is the driving force behind Panelbase having founded the panel in 2004. His 15 year background in information technology coupled with 10 years in market research underpins his passion for the application of technological solutions in market research. Angus has a healthy obsession for improving respondent engagement and survey design, not only for the benefit of respondents but also clients who demand high quality insights. He is instrumental in evaluating new technologies and developing the range of research tools that are deployed across multiple methodologies and a growing range of clients' research requirements. Angus is also a member of ESOMAR.

Ben Nattrass

Ben Nattrass - Panel Manager

Ben joined Panelbase in 2012 and after a successful start in the project management team, Ben’s eye for improvement, comprehensive understanding of Panelbase’s key systems and keen perception of client needs have quickly led to him heading up the Panelbase team. In his role, Ben is responsible for the health of our online consumer panel as well as taking the lead on new development ideas, monitoring and reporting on KPIs and overseeing the day to day operations of the project management team. In his spare time Ben is an avid gamer and likes nothing better than investing his entire weekend on the latest digital challenge!

Paul Wealleans

Paul Wealleans - Business Development Manager

Paul joined the Panelbase team in 2014 with a wealth of experience in a wide range of technical and managerial roles within the media industry over 20 years. Offering a significant contribution to the team with a real passion for raising the bar in service levels, client relationship management and project delivery. Graduated in 2000 with a BA (Hons) in computer science Paul has introduced a new energy in the team with a keen focus on client needs and team building. In his spare time he enjoys the good things in life from travelling, good wine and food and time permitting the odd book. He is a sucker for gadgets, loves time with his family and has a healthy interest in all sports, chiefly football.



Marc Doswell

Marc Doswell - Project Management Team Leader

Marc graduated from the University of Nottingham at 2001 with a degree in Maths and after working as a project manager in the pharmaceutical industry, he joined the Panelbase team in 2014. Marc’s strong work ethic, dedication and passion for familiarising himself with the ins and outs of all our clients have led to his key position within the Panelbase team. In his spare time, Marc enjoys a beer in the sun with mates and catching up on the F-1.

Alex Shouksmith

Alex Shouksmith - Project Management Team Leader

Alex graduated from Leeds University with a BSc (Hons) in Physics, and since joining the Panelbase team in 2013 has transferred many of the skills acquired there to the technical aspects of Project Management and business analytics. Alex is an enthusiastic team leader who demonstrates a flair for problem solving and keeping projects on track. When not at work, Alex enjoys discovering new music and immersing himself in a range of computer games.

Nici Dodd

Nici Dodd - Project Management Team Leader

Nici joined Panelbase in 2012 after spending a year in the fieldwork operations department of Dipsticks Research. She joined the company after graduating from Nottingham Trent with BA (Hons) in Business Management, and two years product management experience. With a passion for delivering projects on target and to expectations, Nici makes a valuable contribution to the Panelbase Project Management team. Whilst being a Project Manager in the team, Nici is also heavily involved in the support function provided to our panellists and making sure that all support issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently. In her spare time Nici is kept on her toes with her young son and Springer Spaniel whilst organising charity & social events with the girls!



Olga Yakovleva

Olga Yakovleva - Project Manager

Olga is a new member of the team and joined Panelbase as a project manager in October 2015. Olga graduated from Northumbria University with a 2:1 in Business and Law. At Panelbase, Olga is an enthusiastic and dedicated member of the team and enjoys the challenge of managing projects. Outside of work Olga is a busy mum looking after her demanding boy and enjoys travelling and socialising in the spare time she manages to find for herself.

Richard Gordon

Richard Gordon - Project Manager

Richard joined Panelbase in 2015 as a Project Manager. He studied BSc Business Administration at Texas College and Tyler Junior College in America whilst on a football scholarship. In his younger days, he played for the academies of Middlesbrough FC and Leicester City FC. Currently a member of Consett Rugby Club and also a self-confessed Star Wars ‘buff’. Outside of Panelbase, Richard can be found either in the gym or buried inside his Kindle.

Gary Chow

Gary Chow - Project Manager

Gary joined the Panelbase team in 2016 as a Project Manager. With degrees in Biochemistry and Business Management, Gary has brought over many of the skills attained there towards the aspects of Project Management. When not at work, Gary is kept busy by his rabbit and 2 cats. He enjoys travelling, having spent a year out travelling around the world. Food is another passion, which led to him working as a chef for 3 years.

James Brown

James Brown - Project Manager

James joined the Panelbase team in 2015 after spending 2 years working for DRG in various capacities such as telephone services and data management. James particularly enjoys liaising with clients and finding creative ways to meet their needs. Whilst not at work, James spends much of his time playing music for various acts across the North East.

Ben Porter-Collard

Ben Porter-Collard - Project Manager

Ben joined the Panelbase team in 2017 having spent the previous 18 months working as a data analyst for DRG, graduating from Northumbria University with 1st class honours in BA Business and Economics prior to that. Ben's head for figures and keen attention to detail are exercised regularly while managing projects. Outside of work, Ben enjoys wining and dining with his girlfriend and is an avid boxing fan.

Debi Brown

Debi Brown - Technical Support & Development

Debi joined Panelbase in 2014 after spending 16 years in the IT industry and graduating from Sunderland University with BA (Hons) in Business Computing. Even though Debi originally joined the team as a Project Manager, her role is now primarily within the development of tools for the Panelbase team and she contributes to the support functions in between tasks. In her spare time Debi is kept on her toes with her 2 children whilst helping out on the school’s PTA organising fundraising activities! She also enjoys walks with the dog, reading and some retail therapy!


Sector Specialists Researchers

Penny Browell

Penny Browell - Research Director and TV Research Specialist

Penny has spent more than 20 years specialising in TV research with a particular focus on kids during her time as Research Manager for BBC Children's from 2003 to 2005. As well as this she has varied experience as Research Managers at ITV, Discovery and BBC1. Penny has used her knowledge to create innovative and ground-breaking ways of researching with young people and children.


Support Team

Alison Pringle

Alison Pringle - Operations Manager

Alison joined the company in 2002 as a Project Co-ordinator and today she heads our Operations team of 4 full-timers who are paramount in the management of street, telephone, postal and qualitative projects. Alison was instrumental in setting up our in-house computer assisted telephone interview (CATI) unit consisting of 75 seats and a pool of 800 interviewers and also manages a large network of direct street interviewers across the UK. As well as handling all telephone and street interviewers. Alison and her team assist the Panelbase team, dealing with incentive management, recruitment, and support.
